About AWF
The Alliance for Worker Freedom (AWF) was founded in 2004 by Ryan Ellis, current Tax Policy Director for Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) and AWF’s former executive director.
Alliance for Worker Freedom is an advocacy organization that utilizes research, lobbying and education efforts to protect workers rights and improve the right of ordinary workers. Specifically, grounded in free market labor economics and constitutional freedoms, AWF seeks to inform the public and national legislators about the benefits and perils of decisions concerning workers rights.
AWF recognizes that labor union bosses often act in ways contrary to the best interests of their members, so it will take every opportunity to remind workers of their rights and opportunities in the workplace. AWF works to raise awareness of abuses by labor unions within the political system by educating movement conservatives on the threats posed by labor unions.
AWF believes that free markets and free citizens are the best formula for workers. Ownership and individual self-determination are the hallmarks of pro-labor public policy.
To this end, the Alliance for Worker Freedom engages in several projects that help advance the cause of individual liberty in the workplace, including but not limited to:
-
the "First Friday" Labor Reform Working Group held every month on Capitol Hill
-
an annual "Guardian of Worker Freedom" Congressional keyvote award
-
an annual "Index of Worker Freedom" state labor law report card
AWF works closely with several national and state think tanks and scholars to develop the highest quality of work. We look forward to continuing the fight to protect workers rights.
