AWF URGES SUPPORT OF MACK AMENDMENT #561 TO REMOVE DAVIS-BACON FROM H.R. 3326

Washington, D.C. – The Alliance for Worker Freedom (AWF) urges all Representatives to vote YES on Rep. Connie Mack’s amendment to the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2010.

Davis-Bacon forced wage requirements are the difference between building three schools or ten, fixing 2 roads or 30 roads. Don’t let out-dated government wage mandates keep our economy down any longer! Vote YES on Rep. Mack’s amendment #561.

o    Current Davis-Bacon wage surveys have a 100% error rate as identified by the Office of Inspector General.
o    Davis-Bacon methods used inflate wages on average by 22 percent nation-wide.
o    Current Davis-Bacon methods inflate construction costs by 9.91% leaving taxpayers the bill.
o    Davis-Bacon wage rates raise public construction costs by $8.6 billion per year.

Enact true reform! Don’t continue to let the government and unions set the pay scale. Remove all Davis-Bacon provisions from the Department of Defense Appropriations Act and vote “YES” on Mack amendment #561
