On September 26, 2015, The Orange County Register published a piece titled "State Agency Serves Interests of Union for Farm Workers" by the Center for Worker Freedom's research fellow Margaret Mire.

In the piece, Mire writes about California judge Mark Soble's recent decision in the UFW vs. Gerawan Farming case.

"Administrative law judge Mark Soble presided over ALRB hearings on the UFW-Gerawan matter, the longest and most expensive labor hearing in California history. And, Sept. 17, Soble announced his ruling in favor of the UFW and the ALRB."

Mire writes about the curropt nature of the ALRB arguing:

"From its origins, to its appointee process, to its ability to function as an impartial arbitrator, there is no question the ALRB has a bias so strong it oozes with corruption. And putting agriculture – one of California’s most important industries – in the hands of one union can only undermine the industry and the state’s economy."
