US Dept of Labor Sues Company Over Wages

According to United Press International:

DENVER, April 21 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Labor said it filed a lawsuit Monday in order to recover more than a million dollars in overtime from Aggregate Industries, WRE Inc.

The company, a subsidiary of Bardon US Corp., has agreed to comply with overtime mandates in the future, but refused to pay overtime wages it allegedly did not pay between June 25, 2005 and June 3, 2006, the Labor Department said in a statement.

"Among this department's highest priorities is making sure that workers are paid all the wages they have earned," said Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao in the statement.

The Golden, Colo., company, which makes construction materials, paid truck drivers per load "without regard to the number of hours worked," the statement said...
