Kansas Gov. Parkinson Refuses to Provide Financial & Email Records between SEIU
Parkinson’s Departments Use Taxpayer Money to Collect Names for Union
Washington, D.C. — Last week, the Alliance for Worker Freedom (AWF) called on Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson (D) to release financial documents and correspondence surrounding his Departments using taxpayer money and state resources to collect healthcare provider names and addresses for the Service Employee International Union (SEIU).
AWF’s letter (available on their website) asked:
“…all receipts and financial transactions regarding the “collection” of this information, per request of the SEIU, be made publically available…that all emails and correspondence using state owned resources between Kansas state employees and anyone working for the SEIU be made available”
The Governors’ office recently responded by claiming they “are not in possession of any information indentified in your [AWF’s] letter.”
“They have no problem collecting information they don’t have per request of the SEIU, a powerful and corrupt union, but our request gets denied,” said AWF Executive Director Brian Johnson. “If taxpayer money is being spent to help the SEIU unionize healthcare providers, the public has a right to know!”
Johnson says his organization plans to follow up with the specific state departments to try and obtain this information. Details can be found on their website www.workerfreedom.org.

This seems illegal to me. Can't someone prosecute for that?

It is against the law (in KORA). It states no list of names or addresses can be used for the purposes of … solicitation is just one!!! AND SEIU is supposed to sign a written waiver that it is not their purpose to solicit these names under KORA. Funny how the governor doesn\\\'t know about it but the Kansas House leadership today demanded it stop. Is it Gov. Nancy Pelosi Parkinson????
