Washington, D.C. – The Center for Worker Freedom announced the launch of its new digital ad campaign today targeting conservative activists in Illinois.

The video highlights Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s latest attempt to create more political corruption: building a government-owned casino in the heart of the city.  The 60-second ad portrays a taxpayer watching as her money is gambled away by an elected official and his buddy, a unionized blackjack dealer.

In a column for Forbes, CWF’s Executive Director, Matt Patterson, points out the casino’s absurdity:

“Whatever revenues a government-owned casino in downtown Chicago would bring would be offset by construction and operating costs… and the displacement and/or destruction of existing businesses in that space.”

Patterson also notes that UNITE HERE, a service union that supported Emanuel’s re-election, might expect to get a few perks if the casino deal comes to pass.
