Historic Vote Begins in Chattanooga

Today the workers at Volkswagen's Chattanooga assembly plant will begin the process of deciding whether or not they want the United Auto Workers (UAW) to represent them.

The results, whatever they may be, will have long-lasting consequences for the union, the communities in Hamilton County, Tennessee, and the nation.

We hope and trust that the election will be a free and fair one, and that each worker will get the opportunity to make an informed decision.

West Virginia Supreme Court Upholds the First Amendment Rights of its Workers

On April 21, 2020, the West Virginia Supreme Court released its decision upholding the state’s right-to-work law, the Workplace Freedom Act. The law was passed in 2016, but after its passage, the West Virginia AFL-CIO and other labor unions sued the state, arguing that the law was unconstitutional.
