Much Abood about nothing

As pay back to the unions who supported him during his election, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich unionized personal assistants in 2003.

He accomplished this by issuing an executive order, allowing the state to recognize “personal assistants” as state employees for collective bargaining purposes. The caregivers receive payment through Illinois’ “Rehabilitation Program,” a Medicaid initiative that pays for caretakers of disabled and elderly persons.

Unions support 2016 Democrat presidential candidates

Despite the fact that unions claim to represent members of different political persuasions, many national and local unions during the 2016 presidential race have endorsed Democrat presidential candidates and supported their campaigns.

It wasn’t until my senior year at a Philadelphia-suburb public high school that I saw teachers wearing red polo shirts every Friday.  I didn’t know what the little apple symbol branded with acronym “NEA” above the left breast stood for, but I knew it might mean a get out of school free pass. 

What more could a kid ask for? 

On Thursday, June 23, the Center for Worker Freedom signed a coalition letter opposing Big Labor's "Take on Wall Street Campaign."  The other 21 signers were recognized conservative groups, including Americans for Tax Reform.

CWF's fellow, Paige Halper, was published in The Daily Caller on Thursday, June 9, 2016.  Her piece, "Can You Hear Me Now?  No?  Thank A Union," recounted the recent Communications Workers of America (CWA)'s strike, including possible union sabotage of Verizon property.

Now, the sharing economy is creating mobile mini-entrepreneurs, making workplace conflict less likely and rendering regulators and third-party negotiators useless.

In a letter with 16 other pro-worker organizations, the Center for Worker Freedom has urged Congress to support S. 2707 and H.R. 4773, the Protecting Workplace Advancement and Opportunity Act (PWAOA), and all efforts to "defund, block, and otherwise nullify" the Obama Administration’s effort to change overtime rules.
