Patterson notes the questionable relationship between labor and new companies, like Gawker: 

The Millennial generation has been taught not to expect getting a job related to their major directly after graduation.  In fact, along with mountains of debt and their diploma, students might as well receive a nametag and apron for their local coffee shop with their degree. 

As young workers enter the workforce, in either chosen or necessary occupations, they may have their first encounters with unions.  Or not.

The following interview is a Center for Worker Freedom exclusive with Rebecca Friedrichs, the lead plaintiff in the Supreme Court case, Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association.  Friedrichs has gained national attention because it questions the constitutionality of mandatory “agency fees” as a condition of employment.

Ms. Friedrichs answered CWF’s questions via email and some of her remarks have been edited for clarity.
