Recently the CWF was quoted exclusively in the Washignton Times. Jeffrey Scott Shapiro quoted our executive director, Matt Patterson, in his piece, "United Farm Workers, founded by Cesar Chavez, in standoff with Gerawan Farming" that was published Wednesday, August 19, 2015.

Shapiro quoted Patterson in part as saying, "these workers know what they’re doing. They don’t want to give their money to the unions, and even more important, it’s about freedom. The union wants 3 percent of their pay.”

On July 20, POLITICO’s Morning Shift reported on the CWF’s exclusive footage of labor leader Dolores Huerta bullying a farmworker at a party in Sacramento.

The farmworker, Silvia Lopez, is the leader of the workers attempting to decertify from Huerta’s United Farm Workers (UFW).

Politico contextualized the incident by saying:

The CWF is helping Lopez and her co-workers at Gerawan Farming in Fresno in a fight to decertify the UFW. Huerta, presumably, doesn’t like that — hence the arm block.
